(Game Jam) Chess with Hazards

Hazard 1: Slow Zone

When your piece lands on this tile, it cannot move on your next turn.

Hazard 2: Pawn Killer 

Any pawn that lands on this tile is immediately removed from the game.

Hazard 3: King Laser

Laser pointing in a straight horizontal line across the board which kings cannot cross.

Layout:

Recommended board layout provided in screenshots, but players may choose a different layout! It's best to start with a symmetric layout, but if both players agree they may try an asymmetric layout. 

Equipment:

Use a standard chess board with a traditional placement of pieces. All pieces move following their normal rules. 

For the hazards, use tokens, coins, or paper cutouts - as long as you can tell them apart.
